STRONG MINDS FOR YOUNG MEN
Raising awareness of young men's mental health challenges and neurodiversity, and providing support for young men across Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.
Our story
The Archie Matthews Trust was set up by the Matthews family in 2024 in response to the loss of Archie to suicide. Archie had ADHD and Autism and was well-known to local services and agencies from a young age. However, he did not receive the support he needed to overcome the challenges he faced.
Archie found it difficult to accept and talk about his neurodiversity and mental health difficulties. In the months leading up to his death, Archie's family tried to find local support networks for young men like him but there was no suitable provision available. There was nowhere for Archie to seek reassurance that, as a young man, he was not alone. This is something we want to see change in our local area.
